The Resurrection
Together as a group, we were given a genre which we had to then create film idea suited to the genre. We were given Sci-Fi, then produced this power point presentation which tells the audience what the film is about. With help from four well-known actors/actresses we choose we developed a typical film storyline and added characters who would work well with the description we wanted.
Feedback
As we presented our film powerpoint to our audience, they filled in a sheet to evaluate our presentation we got back positive results back including character choice, narrative, genre and marketing.
For our title we got an average score of 7/10 and gathered positive comments such as 'Intriguing as it explores the possibilty of a new earth' and 'Intriguing as we want to know why it has that title'. However we also got not so positive comments like 'good title but I dont think it is relevant to the plot.' Overall though we choose quite a suitable title.
Another factor we were tested on was the characters we chose. We got an avaerage score of 8/10, comments suggested we chose good suitable actors and desrcibed them well, although one comment sugegsted adding 'even more well-known actors' Results showed that our character list was good.
We scored a 7/10 for narratrive suitable to the audience, we got this score as 'the genre of science was clear so people will know if they would like the film' however it is 'unrealistic' therefore may drag people away from watching the film although one comment said 'it will make it more interesting'
For narrative of genre we got positive feedback. We got another average of 8/10. This shows we chose a suitable storyline to suit our genre (Sci-Fi). We got comments like 'It suits the genre well' which was our aim.
When it came to the question 'Is the film different?' we got a 7/10 this relatively high score shows we tried to get away from the typical storylines in the genre. We got comments like 'Similar to others but from different angles' and 'yes imaginative ideas'.
As a final rating question the audience were asked 'does it include good ideas for marketing this film?' We got a 9/10 which was our highest score which we did best in. We got a comment 'good ideas'.
Our audience also got asked one last question, 'Would you buy this film rights?' and the majority of our feedback sheets said yes. A few said no but a couple said 'no because i dont like the genre' which showed most positive feedback.
